The global push for sustainable development is increasingly shaped by technological innovations that enhance efficiency and promote sustainable practices across various sectors. Society 5.0, introduced by Japan, offers a transformative vision where the digital and physical worlds converge, advancing human-centered technological innovations. This paper explores how Society 5.0 can foster sustainable development through the integration of advanced technologies, such as AI, IoT, and smart city models. These innovations play a critical role in addressing complex societal challenges like urbanization, environmental sustainability, and economic inequality. Case studies from sectors such as healthcare, energy, and urban planning demonstrate the potential of these technologies in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, significant challenges remain, such as the digital divide, inequitable access to technology, and the need for robust policy frameworks. To fully realize the potential of Society 5.0, collaborative efforts among governments, industries, and civil society are essential. Additionally, education must be prioritized to prepare individuals for the opportunities and ethical challenges of this digital future. By addressing these challenges, Society 5.0 can serve as a comprehensive model for achieving an inclusive, sustainable, and equitable society.
