Implementation of Kabar Garut Media Setting Agenda in Child-Friendly News

Abstract

The implementation of the existence of mass media that is in favor of children’s rights in indonesia as stipulated in the Child Protection Law in Indonesia Number 35 of 2014 which is an amendement to Law Number 23 of 2022 was then strengthened by the Child-Friendly News Guidelines (PPRA) as part og the mandate of the Press Law Number 40 of 1999 which is currently facing major challenges, Especially when communication and information technology was born which gave birth to various online media that encouraged faster and easier dissemination and acceptance of information to the public. This study analiyzes the implementation of the online media agenta in Garut Regency, namely the Kabargarut.pikiran-rakyat.com in child-friendly news that encourages the public agenda and policy agenda in protecting children rights in garut. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview, evaluative structure, and editorial work pattern in the implementation of child-friendly news. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data was collected through qualitative observation, interviewsm and qualitative document collection. The result of the research of the agenda setting media Kabar Garut are committed to implementing the dissemination in information about child-frielndliness which can then encourage the strengthening of public agenda, so that the situation can strengthen efforts to improve a feasible area and attach importance to children’s rights.
