Publication Ethics
PKM: International Journal of Social Innovation and Empowerment is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and adheres to the following guidelines:
- Authorship and Author Responsibilities
- Authorship Criteria: Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All authors should be involved in drafting or critically revising the manuscript.
- Plagiarism: Manuscripts should be original works, and authors should appropriately cite or reference the work of others. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable.
- Peer Review Process
- Peer Review Standards: All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by experts in the field. Reviewers evaluate the quality, originality, and validity of the research.
- Confidentiality: Reviewers and editorial staff must treat manuscripts confidentially. Any conflicts of interest that may compromise the impartiality of the review process should be disclosed.
- Editorial Responsibilities
- Editorial Independence: Editorial decisions are based on the academic merit of the manuscript and are not influenced by the author's race, gender, religion, nationality, or institutional affiliation.
- Conflicts of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest. In such cases, an alternative editor will be assigned.
- Data Integrity and Image Manipulation
- Data Accuracy: Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the data presented in the manuscript. Data fabrication or falsification is considered unethical.
- Image Integrity: Manipulation of images to enhance or alter the results is not acceptable. Authors should provide the original images upon request.
- Corrections and Retractions
- Correction of Errors: If errors are identified in published work, authors are obligated to promptly notify the journal and cooperate with the publication of corrections.
- Retraction: Articles that contain significant errors or ethical issues may be retracted. Retraction decisions are made in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
- Conflicts of Interest
- Disclosure: Authors, reviewers, and editors should disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence their work.
