PENERAPAN METODE MUHADATSAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN MAHARAH KALAM SISWA KELAS 8 B DI SEKOLAH AN-NIKMAH AL-ISLAMIYAH PHNOM PENH CAMBODIA

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the application of the Muhadatsah method improves Maharah Kalam (speaking skills). This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The subjects of the study were the 8th-grade students of class B at An-Nikmah Al-Islamiyah School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Muhadatsah (conversation) method has proven to have a significantly positive impact on improving the Maharah Kalam (speaking skills) of the 8th-grade students of class B. Through this method, students experienced noticeable improvements in vocabulary mastery, sentence structure, and pronunciation. However, there are several inhibiting factors that affect the effectiveness of this method, such as the lack of facilities and infrastructure, the insufficient educational background of teachers, and the varying abilities of students in mastering the Arabic language, which also poses challenges that need to be addressed. On the other hand, the supporting factors include the high enthusiasm of the students in learning Arabic, a highly supportive environment, and the students' strong memorization skills, which aid the learning process as they can easily recall and apply the vocabulary and sentence structures they have learned, making it easier for them to communicate effectively. Overall, the success of the Muhadatsah method's implementation heavily relies on efforts to maximize supporting factors and overcome the existing inhibiting factors.
