AUTHOR GUIDELINE
JOURNAL DESCRIPTION
Applied Business and Accounting Journal (ABAJ) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published biannually (June and December) by the Department of Business Administration, Politeknik Negeri Bandung. ABAJ is committed to publishing high-quality scholarly articles that contribute to the advancement of theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of business, accounting, taxation, finance, entrepreneurship, and governance. The journal welcomes submissions from researchers, academics, practitioners, and students.
The journal encourages interdisciplinary research that explores the intersection of business practices, policy implications, and community engagement. Manuscripts submitted to ABAJ must demonstrate novelty, methodological rigor, and relevance to current academic and professional discourse.
AUDIENCE
ABAJ is intended for a wide academic and professional readership, including researchers, scholars, lecturers, postgraduate students, and practitioners who are interested in business, accounting, taxation, and public service innovation.
POLICY ON DATA AVAILABILITY
To support transparency and replicability in research, authors are encouraged to share data, instruments, and other materials used in their studies. Where applicable, a note on data availability should be included in the manuscript.
REPRODUCTION POLICY
Authors may reproduce articles published in ABAJ for educational purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given and the source is clearly acknowledged. For uses beyond educational purposes, written permission must be obtained from the editorial board and authors.
AUTHOR FEE
There are no submission fees or article processing charges (APCs) for publishing in ABAJ. Authors will receive digital versions of their published articles and the complete issue free of charge.
SUBMISSION POLICY
Manuscripts should be submitted through ABAJ’s online submission platform. Authors must ensure that the manuscript adheres to the ABAJ template and formatting guidelines.
PEER REVIEW PROCESS AND EDITORIAL DECISION
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening. Manuscripts deemed unsuitable will be returned without external review. Those passing the initial check will be evaluated under a double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.
The editorial decisions may include: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, Reject.
The Editor-in-Chief holds the final authority for publication decisions.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION GUIDELINES
Format
- Manuscripts must be written in English.
- Use A4 size paper, 12-pt Times New Roman, 1.5 spacing.
- Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.
- Save in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx).
- Number all pages consecutively.
- Use citation managers such as Mendeley or Zotero with APA 7th Edition style.
Article Length
Articles should be 4,000 to 7,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures.
Structure
Manuscripts must include:
- Title Page (title, author(s), affiliation, corresponding author)
- Abstract (100–200 words, no citations)
- Keywords (3 to 5)
- JEL Classification (1–3 codes, see aeaweb.org)

TABLES AND FIGURES
Must be clearly labeled and referenced in-text. Each should be numbered (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1) and placed after the first mention or at the end of the manuscript.
ARTWORK
Visual content must be of high resolution. Permission is needed for previously published materials.
