AUTHOR GUIDELINES

JOURNAL DESCRIPTION Records Management System Journal (RMSJ) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Commerce Department, Bandung State Polytechnic in collaboration with Ebiz Prima Nusa. RMSJ aims to disseminate knowledge and practical applications in the areas of records systems, information management, knowledge management, and documentation. The journal serves as a platform for researchers, academicians, professionals, practitioners, and students with an interest in the field of records and document management systems. RMSJ has been published since October 2022 and is issued twice a year (February and October).

AUDIENCE The primary audience includes academicians, postgraduate students, archivists, records officers, information professionals, and those involved in document and knowledge management.

POLICY ON DATA AVAILABILITY RMSJ encourages authors to make their data available to support the replication and validation of research findings. Authors should clearly state the availability of data and, where applicable, provide a link or contact for data access.

REPRODUCTION POLICY Permission is granted to reproduce contents from RMSJ for instructional use with proper citation to the journal and publisher. For other purposes (e.g., inclusion in books or general publications), written permission from the editor-in-chief is required.

AUTHOR FEE Authors are required to pay a publication fee of IDR 300,000 once the manuscript is accepted for publication. There is no submission fee.

SUBMISSION POLICY Manuscripts should be submitted in Word format through the journal's online submission system. Authors must adhere to the guidelines outlined in this document. A confirmation will be sent upon successful submission, along with required declarations.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS AND EDITORIAL DECISION All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Suitable manuscripts are then subject to a double-blind peer review process. Based on reviewers' recommendations, the editorial team will decide to accept, reject, or request revisions.

MANUSCRIPT FORMAT

  • Paper Size & Font: A4, Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

  • Length: 4000 to 7000 words (excluding references, tables, and figures)

  • Software: Microsoft Word

LANGUAGE Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their papers reviewed by a native speaker or language editor before submission. Maximum 5% similarity index is required.

TITLE PAGE Include the article title (no more than 20 words), full names of all authors, their affiliations, and contact details of the corresponding author. A brief author bio (max. 100 words) should be submitted separately.

ABSTRACT The abstract (100–200 words) should summarize the purpose, methods, results, and conclusion of the study. Avoid citations and abbreviations.

KEYWORDS Include 3–5 relevant keywords immediately after the abstract.

MAIN SECTIONS

  1. Introduction

    • Background, research problem, objectives, and significance of the study.

  2. Literature Review

    • Overview of relevant previous research and theoretical frameworks.

  3. Methods

    • Research design, data sources, procedures, and analysis techniques.

  4. Results and Discussion

    • Presentation of findings with analysis and interpretation; relate to previous studies.

  5. Conclusion and Recommendation

    • Summarize key findings, limitations, and future research directions.

REFERENCING STYLE Use APA 7th edition referencing style. Authors must use a reference management tool such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

TABLES AND FIGURES Tables and figures should be numbered and titled. Place each on a separate page at the end of the manuscript. Ensure clarity and resolution of all visuals.

ORIGINALITY AND PLAGIARISM All manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. RMSJ uses plagiarism detection software, and submissions with over 5% similarity will be rejected.

COPYRIGHT AND LICENSING Authors retain copyright of their articles and grant RMSJ the right of first publication. Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.
