Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of an article in ABAJ (Applied Business and Administration Journal), a peer-reviewed journal, is an essential foundation for developing a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It reflects the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to establish standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: authors, editors, peer reviewers, the publisher, and the academic society.
Politeknik Negeri Bandung, as the publisher of ABAJ, takes its responsibilities seriously and is committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint, or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. The editorial board will assist in communications with other journals and publishers where necessary.
Publication Decisions
The editor-in-chief is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to ABAJ should be published. Decisions are based on the recommendations of editorial board members and reviewers. The editor adheres to the journal’s policies and complies with legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
Non-Discrimination
Editors and reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on intellectual content without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
Confidentiality
The editorial team must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and the publisher.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by editors or reviewers for personal advantage. Reviewers and editors must recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers assist editors in editorial decisions and help improve manuscripts. They must provide timely, objective, and constructive feedback, treat manuscripts with confidentiality, and identify relevant published work that is not cited. They must not review manuscripts with which they have a conflict of interest.
Duties of Authors
Authors must present accurate accounts of research performed, ensure originality, avoid plagiarism, and acknowledge sources. They must disclose conflicts of interest, avoid redundant publication, and identify hazards where relevant. All listed authors should have made significant contributions to the research and be accountable for its content.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If authors discover significant errors in their published work, they must promptly inform the editor and cooperate in retracting or correcting the article.
